Paris Caché (Day 1)

On the wayBarricade

This weekend many sites generally closed to the public are open thanks to the masterminds behind Paris Face Cachée (The site’s tagline: Des rendez-vous originaux pour découvrir Paris autrement!). The day registration opened a friend and I logged on. We were a few hours too late as two-thirds of the visits were already sold out. Of the remaining options we found two that intrigued us and were listed as wheelchair accessible (the descriptions on the site are cryptic at best) . We signed up and received the addresses for our rdvs, nothing more.

A private collection: 183 rue du Chevaleret*, 75013 Paris.  Meet in front of the black door.

Interviewer: Where do you find the gum for your gum paintings?

Adam McEwen: I chew the gum. Well, I pay people to chew the gum. Students get 50 cents for each piece. Then we take the gum and make it dirty with street shit. I want it to be both elegant and real.  – Interview Magazine/Christopher Bollen
