Les Arts Décoratifs
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs is a hodge-podge of decorative arts through the centuries with a small wing devoted to the last half of the 20th century. I wouldn’t say it’s a must see but it’s a nice place to spend a rainy afternoon.
The museum is completely wheelchair accessible with clean, spacious restrooms on many of the floors. Free for disabled visitors and one companion.
Ever on the lookout for depictions of Black people in the museums of Paris, I spotted thee at Les Arts Décoratifs. A standing nude on a beautiful 17th C plate, an elegant server in an 18th C painting, and a 19th C figurine depicting L’Afrique. I don’t know what I’m going to do with this information but I figure I’ll eventually come up with a way to put it to good use.
